Howard Morton Metzenbaum (June 4, 1917 – March 12, 2008) was an American politician and businessman. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as a U.S. Senator from Ohio from January to December 1974 and from December 1976 to January 1995. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he attended Glenville High School there before earning B.A. and LL.B. degrees from Ohio State University.
